Started to get into the jumpy stuff and think its time to get a full face helmet. 661 comp sees like a good choice but willing for any other suggestions?

thanks

I have a THE industries carbon lid in large (iirc) one chip in the top where I dropped it in car park.. You can have it for £30.

How jumpy and what budget? You could look at the Bell super 2r and have both open and full.

One of those things that not really possible by mail order. 'Not quite right' ends up being really uncomfortable after a few hours.

Go to a bike shop. Try some on. Buy the one that feels right. And, crucially, buy it FROM THAT BIKE SHOP.

Fit is so important, also on the recommendations side, the Giro Cypher.
Saved my money maker many a time and well ventilated enough even for SE asia riding.

In theory that's great, but how many shops actually have a decent selection of full facers? Not many in my experience

I killed my Urge down-o-matic this saturday when i had a crash... its very dead now. I can verify its crash capabilities. I have ordered a Troy Lee Air helmet. £270 down to £96.

I have friends who started out in that 661 comp helmet and when you see it in the real world it doesn't look like a proper helmet next to others.

If you're doing solely jumps get a proper full face IMO. Parachute seems to be love 'em or hate 'em type looks. i personally would go for the bell 2r if i wanted that type of design.

Most serious LBS's seem to stock 5-6 different helmets and have every size* in stock, (JE James and Langsetts in Sheffield did, MoutainTrax, Cyclezone and AW Cycles do in/arround Reading).

*never on the shelf though, maybe to save space, or avoid showrooming I've no idea.

Unless you really are minted, that could be 2 helmets in 3 sizes at £100-£300 a lid!

I've got one of the lower end 661 helmets (Bravo?), but even within 661 there are variations, the other <£100 661 lid was a completley different shape and didn't fit regardless of size.

And then there can be small variations from lid to lid. Last time I got a new motorbike helmet I ended up picking between 3 suposedly identical helmets (same make, model and size!). But then I've an odd shaped head and motorbike lids don't have anywhere near as much foam padding inside.
