[#1855691]

I have an old style Yeti 575 and a P7, both work well with 130mm forks on and I think would be fine with a touch more. The Yeti 575 currently has Pace RC41’s on it, the P7 has Fox Vanilla 130R on that are rather tired. So I am thinking of retiring the Fox forks, swapping the Pace ones onto the P7 and buying something new for the 575, but what? The bike is used for pretty much anything – around the local area, Scotland trips and going on holidays.

I am looking for something that fits these criteria:

130 or 140mm travel mode (they can have more travel but need to be adjustable to this travel)
Through axle - 15mm or Maxle, I have a ProII hub so can accommodate either
Lightish (ie. Not race weight but no heavier than they need to be)
A little bit plusher than my current Pace RC41
No handlebar paraphernalia
Not silly money, so less than £450 a must, ideally £300 or willing to consider mint second hand.
Reliable (at least not silly unreliable which would seem to count out recent Marz offerings)

Should I be looking for an air fork to ‘match’ the air suspension at the back of the Yeti or doesn’t it matter? I have been offered a pair of Fox Van 140 32R at a good price so they are in the running.

Revelations and Floats seem the other immediately obvious ones but I am unclear as to what adjustments can be made to the Floats and there seem to be about a hundred different versions of the Revelations most of which seem to feature some sort of handlebar mounted paraphernalia!

Any advice appreciated

Feel free to point out any good deals or flog me your wonder forks at a bargain price 😉

I got a pair of DT Swiss XMC130's with the 15mm axle for £400 the other month. They seem very good. I'd pay full whack for them if I had to.

revelation races from merlin, and sell the handlebar paraphernalia on, thereby reducing the cost of the fork by another ~20 quid?

Mr MC got 9mm Q/R 140mm Rev Races and was amazed how light they are, something like 3.6lbs?! Light, simple, good performance, reliable, easy to maintain and service, and a bargain. Pro II will run 9mm too, unless you are dead set on bolt-thru?

when he bought em they were doing the deus XC headset free, which sold on knocking another 20 quid off the effective price.

I am pretty dead set on bolt through - but yes those look a bargain and weight is impressive.

Can Fox Float 150 be reduced to 130 or 150?
