I need a new dropper for my bike, probably 125mm drop (that fitted nicely before, might fit a 150?).

Previously I’ve had a KS Lev Integra, which was a bit unreliable, and a Specialized Nut Smasher, but that broke about 4 years ago and I never replaced it.

Reliability is probably the most important criteria. Probably prefer a cable one than a reverb.

What should I be looking at?

Reckmend what you have and all that, on the basis that it is a cable one and has bee flawless in the two years I've had it and it wasnt new when I got it, a Thomson one.
If that is too spendy, a second hand Thomson one.

@onzadog

Brand-x are fully serviceable too. All spares and how to’s are on CRC now.

To me, fully serviceable would include the cartridge, not just the keys and bushings.

What diameter? We've a BNIB USE Helix 165mm X  31.6 - £150?

We've a few BrandX, they work well, easy to clean and keep going.

We had a OneUp that is good, smoother action than BrandX and less cleaning needed, with spare parts available.

Our latest one is a PNW Rainer - superb build quality, parts available and lifetime warranty. Ours without lever was £99 on PNW Europe's Page. I'm buying myself another when my BrandX dies.

Matt - thanks, but I’ll probably use a C2W voucher.

Are Brand X only available from CRC?

I like the look of the Bike Yoke one. My Specialized trigger might work with that?

No, and they use a generic cartridge so there are numerous functionally identical knock-offs if you search around a bit.
