Spare inner tube (sling)
Space blanket
Antihistamine cream
Something called Brudoline (excellent for 'intimate chafing' on longer/multiday rides)
Painkillers
Whistle
Phone
Appropriate spare clothing
A couple of emergency energy gels (hate them and never use them for routine riding, but have seen them have a magical effect on a seriously cold and fatigued rider - gave him the 45 minute lift needed to make it over the last hill)
Anything more serious - phone for help
A inner tube,as it has a mutlitide of uses
Superglue,space blanket,surgical tape,diazepam,chlorpromazine,sertraline, depakote, that's it really.
diazepam,chlorpromazine,sertraline, depakote
that'll see you through most emergencies relatively unscathed!!
I carry some grit..oh.. and spit.. and zip ties and sweets
That's just for getting to and from the shops:)
This spare inner tube as sling thing is something I really don't get. OK for a collarbone or dislocated shoulder maybe, but for a broken wrist or forearm the idea makes me wince just thinking about it. It would be worse than not immobilising it at all. ๐
