[Closed] what do you put on the back of you disc pads? (to stop the rattling)

copper slip or is grease ok??

Someone will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong, but I think copperslip is used because it's got a very high melting point. If you use bog standard grease, there's a chance that the high temperatures (that brake pads reach) could make the grease start to melt, turning it into oil which then runs down the back of the pad and soaks into the bottom of the pad or goes onto the disc.

I'd be very careful not use anything that will melt at high temparures and run down onto the pads.

it's unusual for pads to rattle - are they installed with the correct springs etc?

yep - the pads are great its just the spring seems to be out of shape slightly - meaning that they arent sitting correctly...

I'd replace the spring - anything else is likely to be more trouble than it's worth...
