i'm thinking of getting a bike from there and wondered what peoples experiences were? good customer service? what about warranty service (as i'm looking at a santa cruz)?
never heard bad things over the year just good!
Used them mail order for a few things, and never had any problems. On the few occasions I've had to return stuff cos I've picked the wrong size or decide I'm not happy with the quality, they refund straight away. Very helpful on the phone too. Highly recommended
I bought my first Orange from Stif (when they were in Headingley).
It came with a free first service - so i took mine in for said service not long after I'd taco'd my back wheel overshooting a jump.
They trued it as part of the service, no charge!
Also had them build a couple of wheels for me when i lived in Leeds, top quality and competitive prices.
About the only thing I miss about living in Leeds is calling into Stif to gawp at the nice kit they had in! (of course - they're not there anymore anyway, and i'm guessing the former shop is now just another Headingley bar?!).
I've used them for the first time recently and would happily use them again. They were very prompt with delivery.
I've used the mail order apsect of stif over the last couple of years and found them very good indeed. Ian, is the mail order person, email to his attention - he's helpful.
Not the cheapest but fine in all other respects 🙂
Have only bought clothes from them, but they replaced faulty shorts quickly, no questions.
Never bought a bike from them but used them plenty for other stuff, as above good service and helpful when needed 😉
what SC you thinking of getting?
Do you think if we put a joint order in Neil we would get oodles of discount?
a bunch of johnny-come-lately fly-by-nights, jumping onto a band wagon at the last minute. It'll never catch on and they'll never last.
HTH.
The old headingley site is still empty.
Someone seems to have swiped the bicycle that was hanging outside off the wall. Wish I thought of that 😛
Vortexracing - might do?! i'm going up saturday to have a chat, i'll have a little word and see what they say?
Pik n Mix - either a Blur LT carbon or Nomad carbon. My Ransom is due for replacement 😉
Got some nice bargains there - I'll have one! 😯

Get the Blur you don't NEED 160mm, just spoke to them about a mojo HD, no sign of any shipments yet 🙁
yeah i know, i'm coming around to that idea. I'll see how they both ride and make a decision based on that. I reckon its worth about 1-1.5lbs to get the blur and not the nomad
A couple of awesome bikes there.
I always said I would never buy a full suss but the new sc's look awesome.
Lucky boy 😉
yeah they both look really nice, i'm not getting a full bike but just the frame and forks. I'm going to transfer the rest off my ransom.
Vortexracing were you thinking of a mojo HD like? 😯
aww now you've got me thinking about that 🙄
Apart from previous silly postage costs on things like leightweight fox jerseys hmmmm, they are good from my experience.
Friendly and that so yeah, 8/10, probably a 9/10 or 10/10 nowadays as postage is FREE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did think of it but it's £500 more than the 5 spot 😕 and they have no idea when the shipment will arrive. they said midway through this month, but I wasn't to hold my breath.
for this money though you have to get what you want! have you riden any of the bikes your looking at? have lifecycles got a demo in?
have lifecycles got a demo in?
No they don't, in fact very few places have for short arses like me 🙁
R U still OK for a quick ride tonight?
definately! are we just going to head over to Heally Knab and back? Reckon we'll need lights?
yeah that will be enough I think and yeah lights are probably best.
here comes autumn 🙄
