I've been using Schwalbe Marathon (green guard) 700x35 for donkeys years but before I buy another set, is there anything better that is reasonable VFM? Can't go any bigger, wouldn't want to go any narrower.

Needs puncture protection, doesn't need to be featherweight.

Thanks

Got these on two bikes with different wheel sizes. Never had a puncture, handle a variety of terrain well. Used Marathons in the past but see no reason to spend more than this.

Conti Top Contact - wore out a set after many many miles. I found them more supple and so grippier than Marathons, lasted as long, just as puncture resistance, and generally really nice tyres.

I now have Conti Hardpack - better as an 'allround' bike that commutes less, lighter, but noticeably quicker wear and less puncture prone (that said, I have only once punctured them and it was snakebite).

+1 for the Vitorria Randonneur, very similar to Schwalbe Marathon Touring Greenguard

Also a fan of Conti Contact range here. Been using them for donkeys years. Various different tread patterns from slick to gnarly touring to suit any preference.

I ran Schwalbe Durano Plus tyres for 10 years on the work bike, 20 miles a day, 5 days a week, 44 weeks a year

My commute took me through a busy city littered with glass and debris, then through a nature reserve with thorns and other debris and finally through a town (again littered with glass and debris) to get to work, then the same on the way home, they never let me down even when the tyre became worn down to the blue protection belt showing through, that’s when it was time to fit a new set

have a set of Marathon Plus on my hybrid/leave anywhere bike, had the bike 16 years, never had to replace the tyres!

Reflex sidewalls is a must too!

I decided to buy some of the Continental Top Contact II 700x32 and on logging in to my Banana Industries saw that I'd bought a pair for the wife last year and they were not yet fitted. Grab from the shed, sorted. They look small, having lost 3mm width and 3mm height but I'll keep my eyes out for the 35's at a decent price.

Thanks all
