[#6640104]

Made a new linkage for my bike due to Intense not making any more and none in stock, anywhere.
Question is what colour would you get it anodised?
Current linkages are black so do I stay safe with black or go for something shouty?
Here's the linkage I've made:

Current one:

Bike:

Will be making some new shoulder bolts too so they will need anodising too..

Black.
If you chose a colour, it would need something elsewhere to match imo.
(e.g. purple)

Purple.

Nice bit of machining BTW.

Looking at the bike as a whole, anything other than black would poke your eye out.
Shame as I entirely understand that you would want to differentiate it from a stock item if you have made it yourself. I would be in the same dilemma.

Once you've made that, the answer is very clearly "any damn well colour you please"

Top work

Clear, or gold/Yellow.
Won't look out of place, but will show off the work you've done.

Could you get it to match the shock?

Like those RaceFace "Kash Money" bars?

Otherwise black, yeah.

Blue, but you'll need a bit more ano bling to match.

You could use the bit of woodstain you'll have left over after you've done your fence.

🙂

A gunmetal grey would work well.

Ooh, decisions..
Black would be safe. Red can go pink after a while.
Gold might look a bit much..
Not a fan of blue..
Have Kash gold bars so might be an option..
Might have to try and get some samples of the adodisers before making a choice..

Red.
And get a red BB & hubs to match.

Lovely bike by the way. 🙂

Gold to match the shock?

Though, given that you've got a frame in "bronchitis" I wouldn't worry too much about the linkage.

Oh no, not purple...

@Jamie..don't suppose you could do the link in gold? Maybe the one on the bike if possible 😉

I'd prefer it slightly more on the red side of purple, but then you'd get absolutely nothing on earth to match it.

I still think blue.

Cyan might work best.

Might see if I can get the other linkage re-done the same colour as the main one too.
Not cyan, that doesn't look so good. Dark blue might be good. Think it will work better, which ever colour, by getting both linkages and bolts done..

Some sort of Laura Ashley print would be perfect.

I was gonna suggest gold/bronze..

Steve this and your nippers balance bike are brilliant work.
You should run your own business if you don't already..

Steve,

Very nice - think you have a market there.

How many hours machining to create that?

My mate always witters on about their Mazak H8800 or some such thing....

Cheers guys, came out really well. GD, I'd love to have a couple of machines in the garage to do stuff like this all the time but would cost about £200k to get them 😯

Benz, probably about 2 hours in all machining time. Could probably do the linkage in about an hour and the bolts take about 6 minutes each..
