Definitely been done before, but I need a new chain tensioner for a dirt jump build coming up.
Anyone know of one where there won't be a lot of chainslap?

I've tried a few. The only one which actually seems to to work and is easy to fit and set up is an Alfine one with two jockey wheels. Not the lightest but it works.
what did you use it for?
Stab in the dark... tensioning the chain?
Not jumping tbf. I've go one on my ss XC race bike, one on my ss road bike and one on my hub geared tourer/commuter. I nick the one off the commuter and pop it on my Solaris when I convert that to ss to take as my spare race bike.
Alternative is something like a Blackspire Stinger mounted at the BB. Worked well for me on SS MTB and now on my silly pump track bike.
