Ok bought some deore chain rings and the granny ring doesn't fit, due to the bottom bracket and the granny ring size.
Plus once fitted, the chain snapped, so a disaster when it comes to bike repairs this weekend.
Can anyone tell me the correct chain ring to get, and also a technique for fixing a broken chain? the chain was brand new too

You've probably got the older non HT2 chainring. If it's the inner tabs fouling on the BB cups then they can just be filed back to clear.

ah ok, seems a bit annoying.
would the middle ring be ok, it is 9 speed,
