[#7718824]

Use: commuting but definitely not every day (20-25mi), pedalling around the countryside on minor roads at a decent but not racey solo pace, short sharp leisure rides, the odd towpath.

Things I think are desirable:

Proper mudguards
Clearance for 28 / 30mm tyres (and a bit more wouldn't go amiss)
Rack mounts
Ability to fit dynamo lights
Discs(?)

Price 800-1200

What you got/what am I looking for?, bike types or actual suggestions welcome.

Interested in similar bikes!

I'm mostly looking at CX bikes.
Caadx
Cube Cross Race
TCX SLR
Are top contenders so far

Though I'm also quite taken by the GT Grade. Gets brilliant reviews. £999 for 105 and Hy/Rd brakes.

I keep flicking around with which one I prefer. So haven't bought anything yet. I really need to go ride some of them!

The Mango looks good. But looking at the geo they almost need a M/L size as there is a big gap between the two.

Also the 105 spec is the older 10 speed. And has a square taper BB.

Mate of mine has a Rove, it's a lovely bike.

If it's flatish round your way, Genesis DayOne, ('cos this is one of those big up what bike you've got right?) [img] [/img]
This is the 2016 decade model.

Kona rove al here - does all that, has rack mounts , disks and mines runing dynamo lights

Running mine with 700x40c nanos tucked under full metal fenders.

And youll have change.

Its actually very capible off road.
