I need to replace the main pivot bearings on the Giant AC. They are marked up as 6000LU. simplybearings.co.uk don't list 6000LU - only 6000, 6000lfs and 6000ddu. I can't find any page that lists what the bearing lettering codes stand for, only that a search for the required diameter, bore and width yields results such as"SKF 60002RSHC3 Rubber Sealed Deep Groove Ball Bearing (Also Known as DDU, DU, LLU, LU, RSH or RS)" That's a lot of codes to all be the same?
Does anybody know what type of bearings are best for pivots? Do 'standard' bearings cut the mustard?
