I suspect that's more due to the fact he's raced wc DH as a junior rather than a 1.5" difference in wheel diameter 🙄
Edit.I meant Schuter not TJ btw.

I was all for criticising the course for being a 2m wide track through a field, but I'm enjoying this!
Can't complain at MTB being on tv either, good camera footage and those slo-mo shots are really good!

Even in Olympic MTB there's still time for a little whip or two in places.... 😉

Love the fact they are racing flat out, and still put in a little tweak over the jumps for the camera!

They are going like ****. I remember watching the first world cup at Dalby - the too ten or twenty men in the world really are a different class and when you see them
Absolutely tonking up the sharp climbs its extremely impressive.

I think Hermida is on 26" wheels. He's gonna win 😉

Actually, I think this makes it pretty clear: its about the men, not the bke they ride. Full sus, 29, 27.5, 26 they re all up there

29ers? 650b? Pah! Call that niche?

Why has no one turned up with a singlespeed surly Pugsley or a Jeff Jones and loudly telling all the other competitors that is just sooooo much more real? 😀

hehehe... just had chat from the OH that it looks more like sand, and they should have some proper muddy rocky riverbeds in there to separate the men from the boys...

Article about the course for any that are interested. The competitors seem to find it hard going anyway.
