I've decided I'm gonna go for a 50mm stem on my LT Hardtail but I'm having trouble deciding which one to go for?

Can't really try any out as I can only afford one.

What do you lot who run 50mm stems use?

Cheers

Thomson would be a safe bet..

I use a Straitline one- also used Sunline, and Funn- all good.

I've used a 50mm thompson stem on the following bikes and found it to be excellent. It also looks great

Ragley - mmmbop
Trek - Remedy
Felt - Redemption

Couldn't recommend it enough.

Just got an Easton Vice to replace a borrowed Hope. Want to get a Thomson 50mm and a 70mm so I can switch them depending on where I'm riding (the 70 makes it a little more comfy when riding the flatter stuff locally or longer days in the saddle)

*dreams*

I really like the Thomson stems. The Race face Deus ones are also good but only ever ran them in 70/90mm.

I haven't seen a 50mm stem yet I would say I wouldn't use. Depends on budget and aesthetics really. Lots available at some crazy prices high and low.
If you only want a 25.4mm size then there are loads available on offer. No so many in 31.8mm though. As long as it's from a reputable manufacturer and you like the looks you probably can't go wrong.
One bike in our house has a 50mm Azonic CNC stem which was less that £20 and looks ace, it has 9 bolts in it for crying out loud! I've just bought off here a 50mm Spank Royala stem and bars in ultra shiny bling gold. 🙂

I'm running a hefty hope dh 50mm stem on my five as it was all my lbs had in stock when i got the bike and i didn't have the patience to wait. It does look nice though 🙂
Had i had the patience i'd have bought a thomson x4 without a shadow of a doubt.
Wouldn't look to much into it as it's not as if there's a massive performance gain to be had by choosing a different one, the length/rise is the critical thing. Go tried and trusted for extra confidence in keeping your teeth and/or the one you like the look of within your price range.

Gusset Staff... Lighter than Thomson or Hope and half the price, and no lack of strength.
