[#11858402]

Cracked my Stans Flow rim last week.

Was all set to get an EX511 but realised I've 36 hole hubs (Hope Pro 2 EVO).

Would seem 32 hole is where it's at, who knew! Well, me for one.

What's similar to EX511 but in 36 hole?

DT Swiss HX 531? Can't find much on them.

That's hard to find, but Halo might have what you're looking for: https://www.halowheels.com/shop/components/rims/t2-29-rim/

Slight curveball suggestion, but lightbicyle? I've a pair of 29+ rims (heavy duty!) from them and they are a damn site more durable than anything from Stans (except setting up tubeless, that was a pain in arse)

That's weird, posted this morning but only just shown up. Ho hum.

Need to get back up running pretty quick so reckon Halo may be the way to go.

Tempted by the cheap carbon but 4+ weeks is too long.

May just buy a none odd 32 hole wheel and sell the Hope hub.

Cheers guys

FR560 from DT also comes in 36 holes. Bit sturdier and heavier than a 511.

EDIT: The HX-series is DT's e-bike stuff, so probably

Bit sturdier and heavier than a 511

I might be wrong but I have seen it written that the weight difference isn't as much as it seems between the 511 and 560 once you take the washers required on the 511 into consideration. I'd recommend checking this though as it may be a recycled Internet "fact"

i came here to suggest the same, though i’m pleased to learn that DT do 36 mtb rims.

You can buy Hunt Enduro wide 29er in 36H too. I have their wheels. Rear hub reliability isn't great but so far (crosses fingers, knocks wood, dances round maypole, daubs doorframe with goat blood etc etc) the rims have been good.

@rockthreegozy The PHR washers are included in the quoted rim weights as they are effectively part of the rim - you shouldn’t use them without.

Cheers one and all, those Hunts look good. Found the DT Swiss eMTB ones too (HX 531) which are plenty wide.

Now the big question, are non matching rims the work of the devil?
