So after denting 2 easton arc 27 rims on the rear wheel in the last few months I'm on the lookout for something tougher. Thinking of going with dt ex471 unless anyone can recommend something better. Cheers

They're a little heavy but I like the WTB Frequency- my i25 was tougher than my old 721, way tougher than the Flow and Flow Ex that it replaced (because they'd both died). Good value too, I just got a pair of 29er i29s for £45 each from CRC. The DT options are great these days too but a wee bit more expensive.

The ex471 is a super-tough rim. Perfect if you smash into lots of rocks.

The xm481 is 5mm wider and 5g lighter - and also seems to be really tough.

WTB i25 ST-p are on Planet X for £7.99. Not sure what the ST-p version is / means though. I've taken a gamble at that price!

Had a look at the xm481 but decided to go for the 471, 25mm internal width will be fine as only have clearance for 2.3 tyres on the rear and prefer the extra strength of the 471 rim. Maybe I was just unlucky with the Easton rims but they do seem very soft as I've only dinged 1 other rim in the last 5 or 6 years.

Heard awful things about those Easton rims, I'm sure the DT rims will do you proud.

The only reason I bought another one after denting the first was CRC had them half price and I could reuse the original spokes. Should have bought dt in the first place
