Hi chaps,

Im after some Light Bicycle carbon rims to lace onto a soare set of pro2 evo hubs.

Id like them to be similar width to my flow exs.

Theres a lot of options, can someone point me at which ones i should be looking for?

Cheers

Ricks

There are 3 rims each with, I think, 2 iterations. I didn't think it was that hard really? There's effectively a light duty and heavy duty version of each rim.

I opted for the 35mm Hookless rims, which I also built onto spare 32h Pro2 Evo hubs, with DT Comp spokes and brass nipples. Weight is 1700g, which is a fair bit lighter than Flows, which are around the 2KG mark aren’t they? No complaints yet in 9 months of (ab)use.

Same build as yetiman here. Been very pleased with them. Only this I wish was better is their resistance to 'rock rub'. Mine are fairly heavily scratched.

Check your frame clearance to, a 2.25 tyre on the 30mm only just has clearance on my scale. (Which is admittedly a xc bike). Glad I didn't go wider.

Same build as Yetiman too. Been plenty tough enough and noticeably stiffer and lighter than the Flow EX's they replaced.

Is the quoted ERD accurate on these? Also, what weave do folk prefer?

ERD was spot on. I went for the matte finish and UD weave to be subtle. Finish is the same as my Enduro Expert carbon frame and that was considerably more expensive!
