Went for a spin this afternoon from Aldwych up towards Kings Cross. Nice solid bikes, good 3 speed gears. No oily trousers or muddy bum thanks to the guards. Obviously not the lightest of machines, but for a gentle run through town, they work pretty well.
The only thing I didn't like is the saddle. More comfy women's bike than funky urban messenger.
I wish they'd get them in Edinburgh!

massively undergeared
woeful brakes

I use them about once or twice a month, mainly when half cut
