Having a foray into the world of enduro goggles and would like some reccomnded items. I ride hard and fast 😆 therefore I sweat. Which goggles are good for maintaining vision in clamy conditions?... a very underrated sense whilst hurtling down I mountain I reccon!
They are to fit a POC tektal race lid. Been reccomnded Melon optics(endless customisable) and Raven (mega value on MX24) but the priority is the ventilation so any advice would be appreciated.
Peace & shred hard 🤟🏻
I've had a pair of 100% goggles from CRC for years now, think they're the accuri's, they work fine for sweaty me, obvs only wear them on the descents, then depending on air temp I will either put on helmet for climb or pop in bag they come with and hang from bars to avoid steaming up.
knock off lenses can be had off eBay, around £12 for 3, which is handy when you inevitably scratch the lens from wiping mud off.
Thanks for the info, ideally I'm looking for something that can stay in place even when digging out.
I got some Shimano Techniums & gave up on goggles altogether. A lot less hassle with fogging.
Depends what fits your face really, the best googles are the ones you'll wear, right? I find 100% pinch my nose too much and Oakley's are too square at my temples and don't sit right...Had some success with some Smith, and they had some lenses with cut outs which helps a bit with fogging...but TBH they all fog up to a greater or lesser extent eventually. I've polished the lenses with a dab of fairy liquid before to make a sort of home-made Rain-X, but my advice is to wear them when you need to, take the off when you don't
I don't ride that hard or fast, but I do sweat like a pig, on almost every ride! I've got 2 pairs of Melon Optics, Diablo. (can leave 2 different lens types ready to go that way as well.)
I've found them to be excellent. Although, I've not had any other brands to compare to.
Do fog a little, but in the main only when stationary and I'm already hot. Around the neck when stopped solves this. For the price, and they are so customisable and interchangeable for lenses, straps, new colour frame etc and the fact that they don't fog for me, means I can't recommend them enough.
Great thanks team!
I hate goggles and sweat a lot, and find the 100% Accuri are the best I've tried.
as everyones face is different you just have to try some. my 100% ones are horrid. i ended up using htem to protect my face from shit when grinding rust off of the van.
my ancient oakley o frames are my fave with my fox ones second (just cos they are less rancid).
they all steam up if you wear them alot or its damp.
Smith Squad MTB for the win. Well vented and work a treat, they have been designed with this in mind. Also they don't fog up on the gate at the National Indoor BMX track when the fear hits and you realise that you're too old for this nonsense!
I've pulled the foam from the top just behind the lens off to improve the ventilation on Oakley o frame goggles before.
Crude but effective.
Haha awesome! These look like a goer... Used their Goggles on the snowboard, chroma pop is mega! What's the sizing like... Average sized melon here, medium or XL?
