just looking at a recent run,, check out this segment...

something odd going on here? Many people with silly speeds recorded, but when you check they appear not to be in a car?
How can so many people get duff readings on their gps? I don't believe they are hitting 80mph in the new forest on a road bike.
For what it's worth I clocked 30mph
How do you know its not in a car?
EDIT - Actually with it being such a short segment it would strugglr to get 2 data points I would have thought
such a short segment that a "favourable" sampling error at both ends can make you look fast (even I've had a 32.3 ๐ฏ )
What's the preceding segment, looks like most people are entering the segment fast.
Fast? Do you mean flying?
it's a moderate downhill - no way is it more than one in ten or twelve. Prior to it is a longish flattish grind across a plain
simply to short a segment to be meaningful
Its messed up because whoever set up that segment, their GPS was wrong and Strava uses that data and ignores any correct data from anyone else who rides it afterwards.
I really don't understand why people make up these pointlessly short segments, but if you want, you can just make a new segment using your own (correct!) data and it will fix the bs readings.
Ive done the same before ~

Theres a dodgy segment local to me.
The descent has a full length time and a part of the track time.
The persons time is faster for the total than the partial segment.
