Hi guys,

Going to south Wales for a stag/riding weekend. We are looking for cheap but decent accommodation close to Cardiff as we will be out there on the night. Less than 10 of us going, not a rowdy bunch either.
Don't mind what type, quite like the idea of camping pods or a cabin close by though.

cheers

Tom

This is walking distance to the City Centre and the usual Stag / Hen do venues (god save you).

It's 'just' far enough away to be quiet.

If you want a roof and indoor plumbing I'd try for a Premier Inn or the like, if your dates are flexible you might want to check what events are on in the city, there are lots and lots of Hotels in Cardiff, but a staggering about of events on too - if you can find a weekend when there's not much on they can be cheap as there will be too many rooms, if there's an event on, or more than one it can be really expensive, £500 a night for even standard rooms.

Hi Matt, cardiff isn't a bad night out if you want to stay central try
The Artisan Quarter Serviced Apartments its a good location as if ou travel down cathedral road you come to a large park you are also close to the castle grounds not a bad location for a bike ride. My mates came down from edinbrugh back 2 months ago im swansea based but been Cardiff a few times. We stayed here. If your thinking of entertainment we booked a surprise for the stag might not good down well for all but we hired a dwarf worth a shot if not always a lot of bars, food places and clubs to check out.

Ibis Budget is pretty cheap, especially the 3 bed rooms. Not much in the way of ambiance though.

I've stayed at the Ibis in Cardiff & had the worst night 'sleep' I've ever had in a hotel.

Its very well placed (behind the Motorpoint Arena & next to Gwdihw) but very cheap & right next to the railway. The Saturday night I was there there were engineering works on the lines till 0400, lots & lots of stag dos being very rowdy & having arguments with security & other guests plus lots of visiting football fans who were as rowdy as the stag crews.

Nothing against fun & partying & up all night but its proper sh!t when you need to sleep. If you intend to get any sleep at all then spend more & don't stay at the Ibis

Ibis Budget is different to the Ibis, it's about 5 minutes walk away, but was pretty quiet when I stayed there.
