It's a nice days biking in a pretty wild area, even though it's only maybe 30 minutes from the civilisation (of a sort)

Off to Carron valley with a posse from Stirling Bike Club / Wallace Warriors for tomorrow. It's looking like 20+ riders, some of which are first time proper off-road riders.. 8)

This weekend I'm in Tokyo - in a few hours I'm off for a ride in the foothills of Mt Fuji, to a place called Hakone. If the weather holds, it should be stunning. If................

I've been driven most of the way up Fuji and remember wondering at the time whether there were any off road routes down.

My weekend's riding is over 🙁 went to Cannock last night in the dark and had a fantastic time. 🙂

What a difference a week makes! Last week the Garmin was reading around -1C for most of the ride, I was wearing all my layers and dropping the tyre pressures on the chubby Solaris down to 6psi to cope with the snow.

Its friday, its been dry all week and a quick trail check yesterday morning revealed minimal mud. Can't wait for tomorrow 😀

I have agreed to go to Ikea on sunday and will be particpating in meatballs for tea before heading to .... Cannock in the evening for a twilight ride. My Soul will be sporting a new thomson stem, new much wider carbon handlebars, new xtr rear shifter and new to me Reba Forks (which are a full lb lighter than the Toras they are replacing) Hoping this will make it much easier to manual 😀

Did my first local loop yesterday evening since last year. It's almost impassible in winter as the muddy is so claggy.

Lovely ride. Strange weather though. It was really hazy and the sunset ended up red. The darkest red I've ever seen, like something from the savanna.
