Looks great.

My dog walk was sticky as **** so I'm not too distraught about working rather than riding today.

Chilling with a few bottles of Sharp's Atlantic this pm. Have just prepped mine & wife's bike for the Amberley Rocket sportive tomorrow and started off the steak and ale casserole for after in in the slow cooker.
Morning dog walk revealed pretty good trail conditions in QECP and I felt marginally guilty about not riding but 67 miles tomorrow will even things out.

Blimey that felt cold! But at least the slop is finally starting to dry up (in places) here in the South Dales.

Just got back from riding local and it surprising how much the trails have dried out. More sludge on the dog than the bikes. Lets hope the Peak has dried out a bit since last week for tomorrow's ride.

Going to Mabie tomorrow, after several months off the bike in winter hibernation. A mixture of excitement and fear, I checked my bike and had a quick ride around the block today and i was knackered..easy does it.

Headed up to Sherwood Pines in search of dry trails and wasn't disappointed! Trails are in basically perfect condition at the moment bar a couple of what look like permaslop sections.

Couple of laps of the Kitchener, Breakfast Bagette and home in time for the Rugby!

All colours of cold today, 15mph NorEasterly meant chilly arms and chin.. The Farmers of the South Downs have been busy replanting over the "wet" season, we have fields of manicured corduroy...

And no beer today, it's far too early..

Yesterday afternoon I rode up to the top of Baildon Moor and back via Shipley Glen.
Then early this morning I headed for Harden Moor for some fun before the general public got out of bed.
Trails are drying out nicely:-)

Another partial success. Hit ice on the priest road and nearly didappeared in to the waiting chasm. Then lost my wingman on the last descent and spent half an hour searching for one another fearing finding an air ambulance job. Thankfully just navigational error.

Stunning day out.

Took my lad for a couple of laps at Hicks Lodge yesterday - I need to get their recipe for peanut butter brownie. Half bone dry, half mysteriously wet, no idea why.

44 miles and 2800+ feet on the road bike with a mate this morning. Both with heavy winter legs still. Got overtaken a lot by big groups near Carsington. But first dry road ride of the year. Also first puncture of the year, going downhill at 25mph with a thankfully considerate driver behind.

I've had a belting weekend! Off on Friday and the wife wanted to go to Cannock as she hasn't been for a few months, trails where in perfect condition bar a couple of puddles.

Sare on Pot of Gold by Sam Dexter, on Flickr

Yesterday was the wifes birthday, so we went walking with friends on the Malvern's before watching the rugby with a pint.

Malverns by Sam Dexter, on Flickr

And today I headed to the Long Mynd on the Blur's penultimate ride before it's replaced. Bit damper than I was anticipating under wheel but a cracking day for it:

The Mynd - Minton Batch by Sam Dexter, on Flickr

And as I'm off work tomorrow as well, I might crack the summer roadie out for the first time this year ๐Ÿ˜€

Had a great day out in the Peak, along time since I saw as many riders out. Sun was out and the trails were a lot drier than last weekend. Bikes have been cleaned and its now time for a glass of wine and a long soak.

All day friday building n' clearing new trails of debris, same on sat, similar on sunday morning then riding for a couple of hours sun afternoon..absolutely shattered now with trembling arm muscles and shaky jakey legs but it's been brilliant weather over the past few days and i've got shitloads done so i'm a very happy bunny - I imagine i'll be off the land of nod before 8pm t'night and nae work t'morn for me.

[img] [/img]

[img] [/img]

Getting a new sony AS200 action cam delivered t'morn so i'll try and get some filming done of my trails.

Twice round Ae red and once round Mabie red yesterday and once around Dalbeattie red this morning. Not been down there for years. Trails are all pretty immaculate and running like summer. Shows a bit how Glentress is a victim of its own success I feel when you see how damaged some of the trails are (I know they do what they can)

Recent running injury has forced me back out on my bike for the first time in nigh on 5 years! (Running and hill walking seem to have got in the way...) Anyhoo, had a right blast, easing in gently down the local railway walk before hooning about in the woods. Woohoooooooooo!

There are a lot of cracking photos form this weekend, a lot of comments about "enjoying oneself" too..

Which means only one thing.

We all love riding bikes, riding bikes in some lovely weather ๐Ÿ˜€

Mabie, today...glorious,.there are some serious climbs I wasn't aware of. Perhaps over estimated my abilties/fitness. Once round the red and I'm in bits, my arse is broken.

Twice round Ae red and once round Mabie red yesterday and once around Dalbeattie red this morning.

??!...oofft, you are a machine.

Buzzing pictures from everyone.

Little coastal cx ride on Friday, empty logging fun with mates yesterday, more little waves on dawn patrol today then a real fun strava bashing hardtail thrash today. Not even that muddy either!

First proper ride with the new bike.
Tried to do one of the "South Wales Gravel ride" routes posted on here.... got lost.
Still good fun and the bike was spot on.

Very dry out today in Surrey. Was a test ride for next week's Surrey Rumble. All invited If you fancy a low key friendly cheap event run by a local club.

Out in the dark at Cannock last night, very cold and very dark. Great fun to turn the lights off in the middle of the forest, lots of stars out. The trails were bone dry and we had a great time.

Did anyone ride in the Chilterns this weekend ?

I'm wondering if its dried out yet, or is it still a muddy mess.
