A few months ago we had our bikes nicked by some little git but we were very lucky and we found one of them for sale on the internet. So we called up to "buy" the bike and sent the cops along instead. So we got one of the bikes back (with a heavily damaged frame) but not the other as he'd already sold it.
So after a few months of waiting today was our big day in court - or so we thought. Turns out that our 3 hours of waiting in the court today was just to have a 15-minute meeting with the lawyer to check he had all the details (haven't they heard of phones?).
So still no solution but the lawyer did at least tell us that we have a "good chance" of getting money back for the bike that's still missing and for the damage.
We also got the kid's name and address which may come in handy if the court doesn't come up with anything.
*crosses fingers for another 3 months*
hope you get the best results.
heavily damage the thief with the heavily damaged frame
Unless he has a job though you'll probably get 15p a week in compensation for the next however many years.
He's underage which means he won't get a criminal record but it does mean they'll go after his parents for the money.
Spanish legal system? you have my sympathies!
