I know there has been many jacket threads over the past weeks.

I normally ride in a softshell jacket (Gore Phantom or Freestyle) but bought a new Endura jacket after getting caught out in some pretty crappy weather.

I rode in it last night with just a HH base layer underneath, it wasn't raining but just wanted to see how breathable it was.

Generally it felt quite comfortable and not too hot but when I took the jacket off it was quite damp inside from sweat. Now i know it has to go somewhere but is this normal for other jacket materials like Event and Goretex??

The jacket was a "Endura Flyte" which is made from the same material (3 layer PTFE) as the Venturi II that was reviewed in this months mag.

The concept of "breathable" is right good and dandy...right up to the point where you start to do serious amounts of heat producing exercise. Wear a shell to stop it coming in, and wicking base to stop you feeing uncomfortable from the inside out.

I don't think there is anything that keeps you dry and doesn't get you sweaty inside when you are pushing yourself.
