After a cold and wet experience whilst wild camping with the bike this week it's become apparent I need a new jacket.
Mine is 11 years old and it's lost it's waterproofing (it's beyond treating). So what's a reasonably priced jacket that works. Are the softshell better than the hard shell these days?
Cheers.

Dare 2B Mindset. Looks great and performs great but without a great price tag!

You really do get what you pay for. After loads of cheaper stuff i lashed out and bought a Shower Pass Elite last year which is Event. Great in the wet and breaths better than anything i;ve used before (including 20 plus years in the hill with all sorts of stuff). Light and packs down small. US cut so comfy. Not cheap though at £200.00

Whatever you buy make sure it's breathable. A lot of waterproof jackets are not and it's important to make sure your new jacket lets your sweat out as easy as it keeps the rain out.

I've looked at the dare2be stuff but thought it may be a bit rubbish
