Been using the shimano mw80's for a couple of years as you'd already know even with gortex there isn't such a thing as waterproof. Champion for a few puddles , but a full week in the lakes at there wettest, no chance. So rather than splash out on another pair after the seems came away I took them to a cobbler and got them double stitched. Two coats of polish and a good coating of Barbour wax from the jacket and better than new.
