A mate of mine had a very narrow escape last weekend:
His bike hit a wire that had been stretched across a green lane / trail near Ysceifiog (Northern end of the Clwydian range). Luckily, his bike caught the wire and he was not going very fast. Still the wire cut through his front brake hose (killing his front brake) and sawed a groove into the head tube. The snapped end of the wire whipped around and caught his thumb and also scalped the paint off the back of his fork crown. It doesn't bear thinking about what could have happened if the wire was any higher.

That's terrible,glad your mates OK after that.Whats wrong with people?(Don't answer that I already know 🙁 ) It's school hols at mo 'could' it possibly be kids up to mischief,albeit dangerous I'll conceived mischief ?
Thanks - He said that the wire was dug into the ground, so it looks like a very deliberate trap, rather than kids "messing around". It's in a pretty rural location, so I can't see there being groups of kids down there, anyway.

I can't believe anyone can be so utterly devoid of morality.
I can't comprehend the guilt I would feel if I heard a rider/ child got inured or worse from doing something like that.
So hard to find the culprit though! 🙁
