As above, any recomendations from people? I want a week away this October (but going on my own, so want a guided package).

And naturally as reasonable as possible (yes I know I want the moon on a stick!).

You will find the moon, firmly attached to a stick just waiting for you at basquemtb. Doug is a legend.

we're off to majorca at the end of october for 4 days to ride the tramuntana mountain range end to end off road with www.tramuntbike.com

They're providing the guiding, vans, hotels etc etc.

Havent heard anything about this outfit, I think they're relatively new, but they seem enthusiastic, so hoping for a good weekend.

In the past we've been to bubion with switchbacks, who are great, cant go wrong with them.

There's a company based in Lagos, Portugal that offer guided tours, can't remember their name but they are on net and trip advisor.

Found it http://www.themountainbikeadventure.com/index.html

I'm going with Switch-backs in the first week of October. They are in Bubion until the end of Oct I think.

We re-open on the 9th September in Tenerife. Big hills there.

Based right on the beach with plenty of Winter sun to enjoy.
Stunning singletrack rides with plenty of bus uplift during the day & fun après-bike on the coast at night.
Just 450 Euros for a packed week!
http://www.sierramtb.com fantastic biking since 1992

For the best chance of good weather, I'd head to the Canaries or SE Spain.

I don't think I'd chance the Atlantic coast of mainland Spain or Portugal or any of the Med islands.
The may well all be fine and warm but they don't give you the best chance.

<blushes> thanks Onzadog 🙂 you aren't too bad yourself!

I'm afraid we are booked up until 2015 now and already have quite limited availability for spring 2015, certainly for groups. For the record it should be warm and sunny in October on our backcountry Pyrenees trip, no guarantees of course in the mountains.

South Spain, Italy, Madeira, Tenerife, Portugal, lots of cool places I think.

Lavatrax in Tenerife. Run tubeless though as the thorns are vicious.
