[#3783845]

Got a few too many problems on my current bike and am now looking at possibility of finally trading it in for a brand new bike. Always fancied an Anthem so been looking at an X2 but then found a deal today for a Spesh Epic 2011 model. Hadn't planned on spesh but how do you find them? My brother in law had a stumpy a few years ago and it was good but not a touch on the anthem he got afterwards. I liked the original epic but can't say I've ridden one since. A mate had a carbon one and loved it.

I own an epic fastest thing up along and down I've ever ridden.........I like te feeling of he brain kicking in and think its a brilliant bike. Ridden it all over the place black mountains trail centres all over Wales south downs trail centres I love it. As an over all bike it's brill but you chose your line more as its a short travel bike, took me a while to get my head around than coming from a bigger bike.........but he joys of Jedi line choice training and it will fly.

I rode an Anthem back to back with an epic when I was looking to buy at oe of thise Spesh trek giant demo days (but it was a size smaller than the epic) at Cannock the thing was a rocket ship so so fast but it didn't go up or along any where as quick as the epic overall for me But was brilliant fun through the trees etc. If I'm honest either is a great bike but feel very different from each other Anthem may have the edge in the initial hop on and go for it stakes though but as a package I preferred an epic.

I've ordered it into my lcoal store so will see what happens later in the week when it arrives and is built up. Interestingly I just rang my brother in law who has had 26er and 29er anthems and he has just ordered a Scott Spark RC as he prefers the ride of it and has just said the same as you. Although the linkages are slightly different the ride is pretty similar but neither are as good as the anthem for decending but seeing as I'm better on the flat or uphill I think the epic may be a good choice for me.

Thanks for the input, will let you know how I get on!

Well I bought it and I love it so far. I'm presuming, as it came with tubless adapters, that the wheel build can run tubeless as is? Not cracked it open yet to look but I think it would be fair to presume. Having some issues sorting the rear shock where it feels notchy if you bob up and down on the shock at slow speed but feels awesome at high speed.
