Yep. Did passporte back when it was called the freeraid on a 4.5" travel bike with v brakes. The first hope mini discs I bought were less powerful than the LX parallelogram Vs they replaced.
The Pleney DH, circa 2001-2002. Spds check; Fully raised saddle check,100mm forks check, V brakes check.

V brakes? In the alps? Why on earth would you?

I saw one person riding with v brakes in the alps, riding passporte. I distinctly remember it as I watched her disappear off the top of a berm, and off a massive drop, due to the inability to stop. Then watched the helicopter come and ferry her off to hospital

🙄

I've been ambulanced off morzine and had surgery to pin my knee. I came off a disc braked 150mm bike at the time. What's your point, caller?

Um guys, he's not talking about v-brakes. 😆

I used Tech V2s for guiding all last season (Sainte Foy, Les Arcs, La Thuile, Pila, etc). Great brakes, best I've ever had. No issues whatsoever.

Think I gave them a mid-season bleed and that was the only tinkering required on them.

Aight. I'd rather have v brakes than cr@p hope discs so my original point stands 🙂
