I saw a Voodoo Wanga on eBay and think it might be an interesting hack bike. Any idea what sort of clearance it gets with 29er wheels? Google suggests it has movable dropouts but doesn't really give an indication what the range is.

What age frame? The one I had was 26 inch wheels and 650 at a push.

Weren’t there a few different incarnations? I had the 26er alloy Halfords special with the Rev forks.

I got 700x42 in mine. 29" won't fit in MTB sizes even with dropouts at full extension

No down tube gusset on mine either, that one might be a later model/repair?

It says 700c depending on tyre use. which is the same as 29er. The tyre choice is critical. On 26ers with adjustable/slotted dropouts you can often squeeze in a 29er wheel as long as you use a gravel or road tyre.

With the dropouts fully extended a 29x2.2 rubs on the seat stays but will turn. As above, I think 700x42c is about the limit. Forks take the same 29x2.2 no problem.

Source: that's my frame on eBay 😁

I had one and they are very flexy/comfy frames, the paint however is very tenaciously holding on to the frame with cheese. I found SS one a nightmare and sold it on. The drop outs kept moving and the frame flexing so much that the chain fell off.

I ran mine SS for three years (34/18 offroad) and never had an issue with the dropouts moving - I use the tensioning bolts - nor the chain falling off. Maybe I have ridiculously weak legs..?

I think it was 99% user mechanical error on set up blaming the frame in reality, but you can only have so many nuts stem/top tube moments before you think a frame is jinxed and out to ruin your banga banga party plans. I have legs like a Starling according to Mrs Wally.
