Been meaning to try these out - will they be too big for a narrowish 717?

cheers

I've done it. Worked ok and never came off or seemed to squirm about - and I run 30psi or less. You're probably not giving them their full potential though. Those 2.35s are MASSIVE, I decided they were just too heavy and draggy, so switched to 2.1s...but I am a bit of a lightweight mincer.

Exactly as LenHankie, ran ok for me but draggy. 2.1's loads better.

Those 2.35s are MASSIVE

2.35 inches across, controversially ๐Ÿ˜‰

I got on fine with mine on my 717s- the Mavic website says 2.1 only IIRC but the rim said 2.3. They didn't feel like they were excessively pinched, I now use them on 22mm rims and there's only a minor difference in shape.

Maybe a bit of a mismatch with 717s mind, but they're not delicate rims. The stick-e is pretty damn draggy, and can clog badly in sticky mud too (and the DTC is a poor front tyre, it's "pingy" if that makes any sense, likes to bounce off things). The 2.1 is an excellent, less draggy trail tyre.

I really like 'em but not for everyone.

I run this set up, works fine and as mentioned above not too pinched at all.

Not found them unduly draggy either, using the DTC flavour. Nevs are great tyres,
