Sevilla city will host on Saturday 28th August the start of the Vuelta Ciclista a España with a special innovation due to the 75th anniversary of the race: the stage on 28th August will be a team time trial and moreover….. at night time. The first team starting will do it at 10 P.M. and it is foreseen that the race finishes almost at midnight.
The starting ramp, situated near the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza de Sevilla will introduce a first test where there will be already some differences among the favourite riders, since the 14 km is distance enough so that the great riders teams show their differences with the not so qualified teams in time trial.
Garmin, Liquigas and Saxo Bank stand out for me.
Which team do others members of this forum tip for success in this unique start to a grand tour?
Bump
(I need help with my Fantasy Vuelta selections).
Procycling tipped Sky to do well.
Finbar - I have big hopes for Thomas Lövkvist as he rode a blinder in the shadow of Wiggins during the Tour. I do however have some reservations about the three young British guys riding there first grand tour (Peter Kennaugh, Ian Stannard, Ben Swift). But this view is only formed as there are relatively untested on the big stage and I want 'safe bets' in my team.
