Quick question, What is the car park like for night riding, do they lock the gates at PaBA? is there anywhere else suitable to dump a car if need be?

They don't lock the gates. I've left mine there once or twice before with no probs.

Was there last evening - I left my car near the council building (i.e. in the light, not too far into the car park).

I am a bit paranoid, though...

no they don't lock it, quite a few people there the other night,
pretty much every other car park in the area gets locked though, cannop, beechenhurst, speculation, just stick to peddleyourwifeaway,

might have a pop over during the week after work, not sure if solo in the FoD for a first visit to that trail is the most sensible idea i have ever had but what can go wrong*

*Apart from death and serious injury, mauling by wild boar, etc.

The place is busy at night as well. Don't go too late and you'll meet more people than you want to if solitude is your thing.

The council yard there is 24hr access so the gates are never locked if I remember correctly!

There aren't any gates at PABA!
There is a barrier to the overflow carpark which does get locked though. The car park is regularly used by night riders which means there are generally a few people about.

rode it last night, not a soul about, ok i did get there at 9.30 so not really surprised and a little ice on the final decent.

I think overgrown BMX track sums it up.

Might have to try it again in daylight.

I went there on Sunday afternoon for the first time. Went once round with a mate in the day, had a quick play on the dh, and then went around again with lights once he'd gone home. It was only 6.30, but I was the last to leave.
It's good fun for training yourself to leave the brakes alone on berms.
