As per title- I'm doing a velodrome taster at national cycle centre in Manchester at 5 today. Thinking about bunging an mtb in the boot and having a spin around Clayton Vale first but just wondering-
How long is needed for faffage between the 2? I can't leave sheffield till about 1.30 so given the nightmare that is glossop traffic I can't see me getting there before 3 and have to be showered changed and trackside by 4.30. Is this going to be worth the hassle and-
How safe is a bike in the back of a car for a couple of hours in the car park at the ncc?
I've never ridden Clayton vale before and don't know the area.
Also are Man City at home today? I don't follow football but am aware the etihad isn't far away.
Cheers
Rob

If you can't leave early, just go to the velo', you should be able to watch stuff if ur early (other folk riding round and round and round...). Take drinks, it will be hot in there, but it's great to ride, no brakes, no gears just ride:)

I wouldn't underestimate how much energy you need when there is nothing but you slowing you down.

Keep it in the tank to make the most of it.

City are away so that won't be an issue but I'd agree with the above. I've never had any problems at the Velodrome but have heard of bikes being stolen from the car-park before.

Also, Clayton Vale is alright but it's not really that good.

As Cvilla said, there's stuff to do at the Velodrome and also an Evans shop on site if you wanted to kill half an hour in there.

Save your energy.

Can't wait for the Derby track to open next year.
