I will be staying in Courtenay at the end of August - can anyone recommend any local guide companies for a day or two of Island riding?

Just back from a week in Cumberland - 10 minutes from Courtenay.

This is the guy to use, Martin.

Awesome guide. Phenomenal trails. Great day rate. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Check trailforks to see the trail network in Cumberland. It's 5 minutes ride to it from the high street, which includes awesome tacos, pizza, beer and a bike shop.

Have fun!

Yes, I live in Cumberland and Martin is great.  Download trail forks to your phone and your trails are signed now as well.

blahblahblah, were you on the Whyte S150?  If so I ran into you on the trail.

Another vote for IMG and Cumberland. I lived in Vancouver for two years and still regret not doing more riding on the island.

+1 for Islandmountainrides. Absolutely loved my day riding there. Just wanted to stay as the trails were amazing. I preferred by days riding in Cumberland to my day spent in Whistler.

I loved Cumberland.  Does Jeremy still have the Riding Fool Hostel?
