Currently researching new wheels as I have cracked a front WTB rim.
Not bothered about doing a rim swap as it was 5 years old and bearings are pretty much done and rear wheel bearings are tired too.
So.. Found either Sonder Alpha for £269 for a pair or Prime Orra at £149 for a pair (old Wiggle stock at Sports direct?)
The Prime wheels appear to be hook less rims - any pluses or minuses with this?
Further brain dump..
Or do I get a DT Swiss front wheel at £170, because 'nicer' and then get some end caps to use on the old Hope Tech XC wheel I have hanging in the shed...
I have the Hunt 4 season gravel wheels, had them for about 6 years now, can't fault them.
Planet X have some Ritchey gravel wheels
https://planetx.co.uk/products/ritchey-comp-zeta-disc-wheelset-shimano
Weight seems on the button..
<em style="color: #353535; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: medium;">1,560 grams (735g front, 825g rear)
Maybe worth a look?
I use Mavic Allroad Disc:

(that link may not be the cheapest, so shop around)
Great wheels for the money and they came with adapters for practically any axle combination and some tubeless valves.
I'd probably replace them with Hunt 4 Seasons though.
I use some non-boost hope hoops xc wheels on my cross/gravel bike. For the price of new end caps I got a set of wheels which probably better than any wheel you could find for < £300.
The Prime Orra are hooked rims, it was an error on the Wiggle website description which Fat Mans Tat Bazaar have copied word for word.
I've a couple of sets, decent wheels for the sale price.
Do you want to use them tubeless?
If not Fulcrum wheels are usually cheap and decent - come on many Planet X / On One gravel bikes, a few on ebay or such as these:
Fulcrum Rapid Red 900 DB 2WF Gravel Wheelset - 700c | Merlin Cycles
I appreciate that all Fulcrum wheels may not be equal, but when the freewheel on my son's rear (Fulcrum CX) died, I could not source a spare anywhere,so the wheel got binned. There are always sets of ( almost new)wheels on ebay/Facebook as people go for a lighter upgrade, always worth a look.
