Best vacuum for soft dog hair out of carpet and upholstery, and off hard floors?

Thanks hive mind.

EDIT - hit post before remembering to change forum. Sorry.

We've got a Vax Mach 8 or something, it's black and orange. Does a decent job collecting dog, child and wife hair from carpets, rugs and hard floors.

Sebo - got one, 'tis ace
Miele - upper echelon of STW default choice
Dyson - the Audi of vacuum cleaners

Dyson animal, has always worked faultlessly for dog hair in carpets, wood floor filth and the odd DIY brick dust over the last 5 years.

Had dyson, now got miele. Wouldn't buy any other make than a miele in the future. Sucks like a demon and selection of filters to customise to your liking.

I've got a Harry - like a Henry but with an extra filter for pet fur? Think that is a gimmick though - looked inside and can't really see any major differences.

They are powerful and don't break much. When they do you can fix them.
