Any v-type brakes that allow you to use large volume tyres?

My current set up at the rear on an old Kona frame with Deore V-brakes means I have to deflate the tyre to get the wheel out - the V-brake arms would move far enough out of the way, but the brake blocks hit the frame.

Any other options out there other than running without a brake or a smaller tyre?

My XTR parallel push V brakes go over the 2.35 Schwalbe Big Apples on my 94 Kona. There's not the frame clearance for tyres any bigger

Thanks for that. I've got some old XT parallels knocking about, will have a measure up.

Using early M600 V brakes with Michelin 2.3s on a '97 Rocky Mountain with SID SLs. Got to deflate tyres to remove / refit wheels.

My XT parallel push v's cope just about with 2.2 and lightly treaded. Back in the day that was about as big as tyres got.

Might be worth looking at some of the cartridge type pads, they often have an offset mounting, and may just clear your frame enough to allow the tyre out.
