I was meandering around fleabay and spotted avid digits a plenty being bid on. I was a smidgen shocked to see this stuff still selling. I know I have some digit 5s with 7 levers or vice versa can't remember, kicking about in the garage somewhere.

I've got a Shimano DX one on the back of my Lava Dome and a disc up front, works a treat.

Snap GlitterGary. Red on the green of my '95 Lava Dome looks sweet.

I'd run a vee over a u-brake on a bmx if I could get a decent frame with v-brake mounts. The lever feel is a lot nicer.

Sounds great doog. Mines a bit later, a 2002 frame in purple, but it looks good. To be honest, for most riding a v brake on the back is more than adequate, it's only to scrub off a bit of speed.

My Kona Hahanna runs v-brakes. They work a treat.

I have KCNC V's on My Litespeed SS and XTR's on my curtis Jumpbike.
I really like V's but they do have their limitations.

Yep, me too. I run a 96 stumpy with an avid arch rival on the back and with the right pads it is excellent, i run a disc on the front though.

Saw a guy at Llandegla on Saturday on his XC beast complete with full lycra and v-brakes. I have to say that he didn't look British and v-brakes are still quite popular in Spain. It's dry innit?

V brakes have plenty stopping power, less hastle and are pretty flawless so long as you aren't a brake dragging queen.

I use them on my bike in Oz. No mud.

Much lighter hubs and much lighter brakes.

V on the rear of one bike and in the dry it´s every bit as good as the BB7 at the front. Shame it´s on the winter/wet weather off road commuter.

I could never get V's to work properly, hated them. Was very glad when I could afford discs! My HS33's however, different kettle of fish entirely.

V's are great as long as there's no mud or need to stop efficiently

I run XTR's on the race bike. Won't take discs on the back. Work well enough, until they get wet.

I run disks on my FS and Vs on my old Kona hardtail.
The Kona is saved for the sunny days, the brakes are great, or at least I thought so until caught out in the rain, I nearky killed myself, (scared a bit at least)
