I'm running standard Avid Rim Wrangler pads on my commuter but I need some new inserts.
Any recommendations or experiences?
Not too fussed about wet performance, but good dry performance (power and feel) would be good. Rims are standard alu.
anyone used the Koolstop dual comp.?
[I take it everyone is on discs...]
I've got an Avid Arch Rival on my hack bike and XT/XTR V's on my old commuter bike (discs on everything else).
Never really had a problem with either to be fair so i just replace like for like. XTR pads and Rim Wranglers.
If i really had to choose i'd say the Avid Rim Wrangler pads are marginally better. I don't know if XTR pads fit into avid cartridges though?
reggie - I have had good resuts with the koolstops and currently am selling a few pair of new pads over on the classifieds - not inserts though
kool stop make the best rim pads IME.
cheers all. I've gone for a pair of koolstops so we'll see how they fair. Saw the pads Iain but prefer inserts.
