Taking the plunge into UST wheels and looking for a recommendation of tyre and where to buy.

Mostly xc riding, but like a lot of side grip for descents

I've just bought a bontrager mud-x that's "tubeless ready" - think that means it's up to the job, but needs jizz ?

Do you want UST tyre or Tubeless ready?

Last Winter I used 2.2 Bonty ACX TLR and was very happy with then as all rounders (with Jizz).

UST its got to be Maxxis High Rollers but its hard to get them in non-LUST and not-70a now.

Mud-X is a cracking tyre in the wet. Nobby Nic if it's drier.

a lot tougher than standard conti sidewalls - have an "apex sidewall" or something...a bit like the protection sidewall but more so

Another vote for Mud-X plus sealant, great tyre.

Just binned some Nobbynics and replaced with Specialized 2bliss control tyres. The 2bliss are half the price and no real noticeable change in grip/weight imo. Not sure how they'll cope in winter but have Trailrakers for when it gets muddy.

Superb tyre. Very confidence inspiring and very robust; run a 2.2" RQ at the front and a Geax Saguaro TNT at the rear.

Maxxis Highrollers and Stans.

Don't bother with the LUST ones.
