[Closed] Using non ispec shifters in a matchmaker configuration?

Morning All

Does anyone know if its possible to use Formula R1 brakes with Shimano XT shifters in a matchmaker style configuration? I know you can get Ispec shifters but my understanding is they only work with Shimano brakes.
