Gravity Dropper? Are they still available?

I've "serviced" my HiLo a few times...

Specialized command post is very easy to service. Recent thread here on it:  https://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/specialized-command-post-18/

Giant Contact Switch is very basic. The entire internal cartridge is replaceable

Seconded on the Command Post - very easy to strip and rebuild. Looks like the new Ritchey will be similar, and the e*Thirteen dropper is even simpler with a mechanical spring.

X fusion manic. I think I remember seeing £30 for a new cartridge and fully user serviceable.

BikeYoke Revive.

Their claims are user serviceability. Non IFP design and a reset mechanism.

Yet to get one, but keep considering it to replace my stash of knackered Reverbs.

I chose the revive over the reverb due to serviceability and cost of spares. I've come to the conclusion that all droppers are crap so I might as well get one I can fix quickly and easily.

The other end of the spectrum is the Thomson. Can't even get in to clean and grease the sliding components.

Oneup dropper post - cheap and well made - and relatively short length for inserting into seat tube.

I've got a 170mm on my bike and have just fitted a 150mm on wife's small roubion  which previously could only fit a 100mm reverb

Has a replaceable cartridge - cost of which is lower than a reverb service

Having actually used my command post now (it was my thread linked to up there ^^^) Im very happy with it. Very easy to disassemble and clean, simple mechanism and easy to set up.

Time will tell how it hold up to a 17st ape bouncing about on it.......

I’ve had two high lines and if you read the long term reviews on the dropper it is very good , I’ve had no issues and I think they have addressed the reliability of the older dropper posts they manufactured. Wouldn’t hesitate to get another one. Having the confidence to give a three year warranty  speaks volumes about the reliability.

Here you go a long term review by Singletrackworld no less!!

I went with the E13 TRS+ dropper as it's mechanical and fully user servicable. The one that's famed for E13/The Hive's customer service sending customers a stronger spring and improved seals because a few muddy rides are enough to stop it reaching the top position (yes they sent it to me too). It also has noticable left-to-right rotational play, and to be honest I think it's also quite flexy too (and I'm under 70kg).

Edit: otherwise I quite like how it works(!)

Older post - X-fusion Hilo SL - external routing. Dead easy to clean and service.  Doesn't like too much PSI as it will leak fluid, but easy to sort. Seal kit £20.

One weakness... Flints can get flicked up from the wheel and stick in the release mechanism - happened twice. Easy fix, either pop the saddle off or blow the bit of flint out.

Droppers with sealed cartridges, surely that’s the opposite to home serviceable?

A. Not very green compared to an oil change and some orings.

B. Where are these cartridges? I see a lot of droppers for sale now claiming to have cheap replacement cartridges but don’t see any for sale on those sites.

I've not seen cartridges for the X-fusion post !  It's been a learning curve learning how to service mine, but it's all good.
