Just looking into getting a post and it needs a shime. Frame is 27.2mm the post is 25mm. Use make one and its the only one I can find thats easy to get. Are they anygood? Never used a post with a shim before. Is it a good idea?

IMO they are a pita if you move your seat post much. But they work.

Agree - if you want to move the post regularly a shim of any kind can be a pain, but the USE ones are good and leave less marks than metal.

A shim is more of a faff if you move your seat up and down but I get on with mine okay. A plastic one on a carbon post in an alu. frame if that can make any difference. Just hold your finger over the shim as you pull the post out of the frame and its fine
