I have a dinotte ultra 3W. I bought it from on-one recently in one of their clearout sales. Just started using it regularly and it's not working properly - basically the switch is broken and the whole unit is a bit temperamental.

Dinotte have said they'll try and repair it if i pay postage both ways to the US - probably not a huge amount of money. However, in the short period while the light was working I was a bit underwhelmed by the power which has been exceeded by any old £10 LED torch from DX. (I paid £40)

I was wondering if there were any simple upgrade options for the unit. I'm not electronically gifted but keen to have a go. while i'd rather not replace the driver, if the switch is broken it would make sense.

am I better off starting from scratch or just buying one from someone who knows what they're doing?
