Have I cured myself?

After a succession of increacingly expensive, shiny, or just plain daft coloured bikes, I went home this weekend and rummaged through the shed for...........

Some 2.1 swampthings I bought in 2003

Some MX Pro's I chucked in the spares box after an MBR review of a Giant VT convinced me manitou minutes were the shit (they weren't, they were just shit).

Some broken minutes, as despite being rubbish I ended up with 2 pairs now one has a bant steerer and one a blown cartridge, as my riding isn't as 'core as MBR would have me believe they should be a bodgeable serviceable fork in there somewhere.

Some on-one rigid forks, from the days when converting your 5" hardtail to 69'er was the height of cool-niche.

A pair of IRC Mythos XC 1.95F, the trend for running 2 front tyres isn't a new thing acording to my spres box! Thats another £50 I wont have to spend on summer tyres this year (or looking at the pile, lots of £50's for the next few years!). Ohh, and red sidewalls, nice 🙂

Other blasts form the past.....
Panaracer Fire XC
Continental tyres (various vertical, gravity etc)
Lots of slightly too narrow to be cool riser bars
Rock shox Pilot forks (these actualy were bad)
Various XT/XTR mechs form the 8/9speed era.

Who says MTB has to be an expensive hobby? Just spend a fortune on it for years then at some point you'll have so much 'junk' you'll never need to look on CRC again!

I give you about a month before you decide you "need" something new 😀
