#unt Wheels Question

May have been asked before, but here goes.

I bought a pair of Hunt gravel wheels at the start of the year, paid in pounds sterling and they were sent next day delivery from the UK.

I went on a 42k gravel ride with my mate, nothing gnarly, and after cleaning the bike I noticed the back wheel was well out of true.  On contacting Hunt and explaining this the first offer was to get them trued by a cycle mechanic/shop, but I'd lost faith in the build quality so opted for a full refund with their 60 day ride & return policy as I now don't  want them.

Low and behold, I've now got to return them to the US at my expense, WTAF!

Anyone else been caught out by this and what did you do?

UK company isn't it. Why would you return to the US?

I'd check in the terms and conditions of the offer

it doesn't sound unreasonable to me TBH

However, i'd also say take the offer to get them trued, if they go out of whack again then kick off

I wouldn't say it's unusual for new wheels to need a true-up post first few rides, did they offer to pay for this?

Get them trued, no reason to lose faith once they're sorted and the tensions are reasonably equal.

I've just been through the email and delivery info and they were delivered by ITS Cycling Ltd which is UK registered firm, so why return to the US for a full refund?

I'm just a bit perturbed by the possible sharp selling practice of putting me off sending them back TBH and the legality of it. It would cost @£146 with parcel force to send them back to the US!

Getting them trued by a bike shop to within 0.35mm as spec'd would now seem the best avenue at this time.  I've bought wheels from custom builders before, Moonglu and most recently Ryan Builds Wheels and rode many a mile without an issue or wobble to date.

Not sure what you mean by "caught out". You're returning them as you've decided you don't want them, so fair that you would pay the postage.

the first offer was to get them trued by a cycle mechanic/shop, but I’d lost faith in the build quality

Good offer, that would also immediate sort the build quality. If there is any actual quality issue then any half decent LBS will be happy to tell you when they've got them in

The 60 day returns policy does say your responsible for return shipping but it does not say to where (that I can see).

Have you double checked with them that they haven't mistaken you for a US customer? Explicitly ask for the UK returns address (they publish one for small items on their website).

Did you query that with them? Might be an error with their CRM system or something.

I've no idea where you are, so have Hunt possibly suggested the US as they thought it might be easier for you? Their CS is usually their strongest asset, so cant see them intentionally making it hard

I bought a pair of their 650B wheels rode them for about a month then had the chance of a 29er . Courier was arranged , came to my house picked them up sent the replacements didn't cost me anything. Thumbs up from me

Hunt have definitely just made a mistake on the location, we have never had a problem with them at all.
I recon a simple email to them would sort this..

However it does clearly say in the T&C that the return will be at the buyers expense.. So you'll have to pay for the UK shipping anyways

All, flap over, after I queried the return address, they replied saying it was wrong and to return to the UK address.

Pitchfork now back in the shed, thanks all.
