so why are you

kicking off with ABSOLUTELY NO **** REASON!!!

I have a frame, three t-shirts and a willingness to share my relatively not bad experience

SB has drunk the Sick Kool Aid. They have been sent on a sacred mission and promised a pair of the mythical Titanium handlebars for carrying out the holy mission of smiting the non-vomiters.

Its like this sweetie, and you seem to have trouble grasping this concept. This place is a community; I would rather people warned me about scammers (because that's what they are, see above dinde111 post) That way, others can make a judgement on whether or not to invest in their ponzi kickstarter. It is one of the valuable services that this site provides. There are other mountain bike websites available, since it bothers you so much.

I just find it silly that there's so many opinions out there that really don't need to be stirring the pot. And I'm far from 'kicking off' If I replied to every post that ruffled me I'd not get anything done in the day, I guess some people do have unlimited time through the working day in front of a screen and just post for the sake of it.

As you were.......

Their latest IG post seems to imply there are further delays for in progress orders as they're changing frame builder again.

Duckman.... oh dear.... you're using someone else's 'funny' quote now... Sheep!
Brilliant post by the way, including immaturity, patronising and condescending all at once. At least you know never to buy a Sick frame now dont you? Because you were going to buy one weren't you? Or weren't you??

nd Tom Howard you appear to be the type that will bitch and reply to anything at the drop of a hatโ€ฆ. why?

Au contraire, my angry friend. I'm currently waiting on a set of brakes I ordered 6 months ago, and a set of cranks I ordered 3 months ago. Not once have I bitched or whinged about the wait, because I have been kept in the loop with regular updates, without having to chase. These companies haven't avoided/blocked users who ask about delays on social media, nor have they claimed to be the saviours of the current bike industry and how much better they will be, before promptly, well, here we are.

Will you be telling all the IG fanbois to stop posting, as they don't have frames either? Or is than not how it works? Do you have a frame? Should you stop posting? If only there were an easy way to stop all this negativity, eh?

FWIW, I was interested in the Sleipnir, but not after all the attitude from Tim, so bought something else instead. It wasn't from a big manufacturer, infact possibly a smaller operation than sick, but it arrived within a week.

An apology to the Op for my first post on this thread off the back of their coming back and actually posting something other than a link.

I can entirely see why your less than happy I'm just not keen on the way you posted in the first instance. I hope you get your money back.

Over in the bass guitar world, a custom cab builder managed to keep a scam running for a scarily long time: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/dr-bass-marc-serio-cab-builder-accepted-10k-in-payments-never-delivered-gear.603775/

big_scot_nanny โ€“ to be honest, I donโ€™t really see the t-shirt as a dig at Sick โ€“ just making the Gnarpoon name into a lame forum joke once again instead of a bad news story.

Reading the above from dinde111 and then seeing the uncritical promo guff here...

https://singletrackworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/sick-bicycles-u-s-made-gnarpoon-steel-or-alloy-trail-or-downhill/

Hmmm.

10 grand ...guitars

https://forums.roadbikereview.com/bikes-frames-forks/beware-desperado-250560.html

Happens in the framebuilders bike world often

There's more than just this

Cult of personality ....innitl

the uncritical promo guff hereโ€ฆ

Don't the company send that in and not the magazine that writes it, one of the guys on pink bike once told me how to do a press release in case I ever wanted to send it , pretty sure they publish it as written subject to a set of guidelines??

skimmed that roadbikereview forum post.

rollercoaster.

6 years to get a court judgment then the implication that the frame builder faked their own death to avoid paying up.

Press release or not stw and pinkbike should probably do some editorial and ask them where people's bikes are.

You'd think they'd at least have some awareness of what's going on though, and not make themselves party to it?

Alex Simonโ€ฆ my frame? What the **** are you on about????
This ilustrates my point exactly! Pointless jumping to (wrong) conclusions.

You're right. Please accept my apologies. I remember you posting a link to a frame for sale, but now I see that you said it wasn't yours. Again - sorry.

I will happily kick them whilst they are down. What really gets me is all the people waiting for frames whilst they doing new drops, bringing out new models and spouting their fighty attitude on Instagram yet when they are confronted about their absolutely awful service they block people. They dish it out but canโ€™t take it, I for one would love for them to actually try to justify their actions in a setting where they canโ€™t just delete negative voices or block people.

โ€œ10 grand โ€ฆguitarsโ€

Were you thinking it was 10k from one purchaser? It wasnโ€™t, it was lots of amounts of a few hundred odd to maybe 1k from lots of bassists. It ran on for years, he kept โ€˜sellingโ€™ to new people.

Using PayPal express and Stripe for Payments, Transfer and Refunds is not cutting it. We keep getting *random* (wink wink nudge nudge) holds from PayPal on funds.

So, paypal and stripe have cancelled Sicks merchant accounts then?

No I actually though 10 grand from lots of people each, I am about as musically talented as a big brush so don't follow those circles but I do follow a guy who machines guitars out of solid ally so figured 10k a pop might be plausable.

Thread still going strong!
Things turn from "unhappy" to "very unhappy" right now.
Trash grade? Sick is an T-shirt maker and nothing more?

It's a bit like when the dodgy takeaway that no one really uses puts a sign in the window saying "Sorry, we've got a problem with our card machine. Cash only"

The only problem is that their cash flow is so stuffed, they can't pay the card fees.

Not that such a thing is happening to the most happening bike brand on the UK scene...

This! As a owner of a sick frame this is the reason I wouldn't buy another one.

For context 2 of my friends also have sick frame, 2 of the 3 of us are happy with the frames we purchased but the way they treated/communicated with the 3rd* is dogshite.

*he hasn't posted his story/saga on STW.

Was just doing analysis on Socialblade for something unrelated which reminded me of Sick, so i had a quick look at their profile.

Turns out they've gained a bit a bit of traction recently and continuing their substantial growth. All publicity is good publicity, right? Meanwhile the Pinbike saga continues

@cokie this is great to see.
I'd just like to say well done to the Singletrack and Pinkbike trolls on boosting Sick's reputation.

Firstly, as number one fanboi, congratulations on digging up an old post.

And given by the hammering they have been getting on Pinkbike, when their reputation is at gutter level, I guess the only way is up. If only success in life was measured as a number of followers huh? Mind you, with the latest bits on on there dragged up from Dumber & Dumber's past, we can assume most of the IG followers are bought, or bots. In other words, a sham, like the hundreds, and hundreds of frames they have sold already, and the hundreds awaiting delivery.

Have they already gone pop now anyway? There has been radio silence for weeks. Given their total narcissistic desires, that's literally a lifetime for them.

Or maybe Dim has got lost in the massive warehouse of frames they have.

What happened to the Singletrack article that Hannah was supposedly writing on Sick? I don't buy the mag so it may have been published in there.

He did a live video stream the other week. But couldn't be bothered to sit and listen and he didn't save it afterwards. Their latest post has a comment at the top slagging them off which hasn't been deleted. Doesn't look too healthy for sick

@butterbean
I love it how you call me "No. 1 Fanboi" because I own 1 of their bikes. So I take it because I also own a Knolly, a Chromag, a Santa Cruz and a Cinelli then that makes me a fanboi's of all these brands.

GROW THE **** UP YOU SNIVELLING TROLL

Having read the whole thread & from what iโ€™ve seen/heard from other sources iโ€™m surprised anyone would associate themselves with the company or defend them in any way, whatโ€™s the deal Joe?

@simonloco. I've bought one bike off them. Ever since then I have been trolled and received loads of homophobic abuse. All because I own one of their bikes.

@butterbean. Good to see you can use Instagram buddy. The shot was taken a year or so ago when I did some voluntary work for Sick at some shows. Nothing ever happened past that and I don't even work in that industry anymore. As there's a lot more money to be made in car sales.

He must think highly of them to look after their customers for them after just buying one bike. Kudos.
